FEMCARE INITIATIVE:  FEMALE SUDENTS GET FREE PADS

Student of University of jos,  have turned out in their numbers to get enlightened about how to manage mood swing and cramps .

The event which took place at the faculty of art hall was hosted by FEMCARE Initiative  and was mostly populated by  female students  as the issue relate to  the  female world.


In attendance were medical doctors, Relationship coach,  life coach, Enterprenuer, spoken word artist and other important guest who took turns to impact knowledge on the students.


Dr. Chika ugagu a public health specialist, in her speech  got many students reacting  as she stressed the need of why ladies should not be  involve in relationship   until they are fully ready for marriage.

Dr Bisat Justin John  a public health specialist, health advisor and an Enterprenuer also spoke to student on how they can manage cramps and mood swing, without making people around them uncomfortable.

In his word "Everybody have a bad side but it becomes a problem when you allow your bad side over shadows your good side" he further added that owning a pet will help you relate well with others.

     Miss Ibiden Deborah, Convener And         founder;  FEMECARE initiative


FEMCARE INTITIATIVE is a newly found organization design to meet the needs of  the girl child  both   teenagers and youth.


According to the convener and founder of FEMCARE Initiative,miss Ajagunna Ibiden Deborah,  FEMCARE  is  a newly founded organization and is birth  from the faculty of art christain fellowship. She added that the program is strictly ment  for women.


Miss Ibidin also expressed her joy over the number of students who turned up for the program,   according to her their numbers were overwhelming.

while cemmending the students for their cooperation and participation.she said her experience with the students was a fruitful one.

"My experience with the students was fruitful, especially the interractive section Students were able to expresd themselves, asked questions relatable to them and many more"


She  mentioned that their major challenge was finance, in her words, she said

"Among all the challenges, the greatest we had was financial challenge. We couldn't give all the ladies who made it to the program pad because of financial constrain. There were other things we had to improvise because of lack of funds".


Speaking with some of the participants of the program, they attest to the fact that the program was impactful as they learnt lots of things from the discussion section they also expressed their dissatisfaction In some areas and would want the organizers of the program to do better in subsequent  program.


Jemima isa Ibrahim a 300 level student of mass communication who was present at the program shared her exprence.


"i was happy that I was in the midst of ladies, Doctors, I really anticipated more from the program, I really had fun because there were lots of questions and answers and yes the program was really impactful at least I learn that cramps is a normal thing for ladies though not all ladies experience this, i learn some home remedies  to calming the pain like taking hot water.

I also learn about sexual purity that if you are not ready for marriage never go into a relationship, also other lustfully act, touching and kissing in relationships defile you already even before going into the main act".


Jemima also expressed her disappointment not receiving sanitary pad which she had earlier anticipated will be shared at the event.

"I was kind of disappointed  because I expected that they'll distribut pad for all participants even if it's one pack or some pieces but rather just few pad were  given to people who answered question"

"Speaking with  Chindo Zoe Nenrit a 300l student of international relations, she shared her experience, stressing the fact that she really learnt a lot from the program


"the program was impactful I've learnt a lot  that I can put to use, I enjoyed it and I've learnt a lot from it.


She also mentioned that she expected to receive pad but felt disappointed seeing that it was shared for just student who Answered questions.


She futher  mentioned that her expectation for subsequent program are high as she is hoping that the organizers of the program will do  better next time  also hoping that  the management   will work on their sound system and instrument.


Zoe also  added that the program was one of it's kind. According to her 

"I like open conversation where youth gather and share ideas, with that you get to understand more"


"all in all I learnt that in any relationship you are involved in you must set boundaries and be bold enough to say no to what you don't want to do "


The program was anchored majorly by student from the faculty of art fellowship. Miss ibiden the convener of the program affirms that the program was a success. As the outcome of the students was impressive.

GOVERNOR SULE VISITS TERTIARY INSTITUTIONS, DISTRIBUTES FOOD AND FINANCIAL AID

Students at tertiary institutions in Nasarawa state received a welcome boost today, as Governor A.A Sule paid a visit to several institutions in the state, including the Federal University of Lafia, and distributed bags of rice as well as a cash gift.  Govornor A.A sule at the federal university lafia. Unijos V-C Honoured During Visit To Mass Communication Department, Commisssions New Studio and Library.

The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Jos, Professor Ishaya Tanko, visited the Department of Mass Communication to commission its newly constructed studio and library. The event, held at the Faculty of Social Sciences, saw the presence of   dignitaries from government parastatals, lecturers, senior lecturers, Heads of Departments, and the Dean of the Faculty of Arts, among others. Senior lecturers of the Department of  Mass Communication Professor Ishaya Tanko, who received several awards, expressed gratitude to the department for the respect accorded to him. He also acknowledged the presence of the Minister for Sports and praised the current administration for its unwavering support to the university.
