UNIJOS FASA OFFICIALLY WELCOMES NEW STUDENT TO CAMPUS

The Faculty of art student Association officially welcomes new students of 2022/2023 section to campus during its orientation ceremony.


The event which took place at the Aliyu Akwe Doma indoor theater of the Naraguta campus university of Jos, had in attendance the Dean of FASA Dr. Isaac Lar who was represented by the Deputy Dean Dr. Jumai makpu, the Faculty officer, Mr kopte Gwokat, Dr. Adhijo and other senior lecturers from the Faculty of art.


The Faculty president Aaron kolo, Members of FASA parliament, and other Excos were also present at the event.


The Faculty officer Mr Kopte Gwokat while addressing the student underscore the need for students to carry out a proper registration and ensure they submit their files appropriately.


He warned students to desist from illegal groups stating that some people parading themselves as students on campus are not students, Mr Kopte further advised students to always check their result on the board to know their grades.


Students were also addressed on leadership and unionism, this speech which was delivered by Dr.Adhijo stressed on the need for unity amongst leaders, thereby calling on student who have interest in leadership to feel free to join the union.


 In an interview with the FASA president, Aaron kolo, he Emphasized the important of the orientation and why it is necessary for new student to attend

" I'm so happy that we are able to organize this event for the Faculty of art freshers. This event is very special,and for two sections now it has not taken place. I am so happy that we've been able to orient these students, it is very important because they need to know what they signed up for and what is ahead of them"


He added that artists were invited to perform at the event stating that the event will not only end at the indoor theater but there will be an after-party later in the day and a hang out at the jos museum.


Speaking with some of the students in attendance they shared their experiences and what they've learnt from the program

 
Dangnaan Jonathan a 100 level students of mass communication said the event was fun and she learnt that above getting a degree in university being close to God is key


Amah Janet, a 100 level student of History and international Relations also affirm that the event was good as they were advised on how to attain success in school. She also said that she will ensure to be of her best behavior throughout her stay in the university


The event which was packed with great fun hosted artists like Jamboxzee, Stabs, Timzee, E-light, Tongshinen and others who Entertained students in songs and spoken words, there was also a Dance performance by Brenda and special music performance from the university of jos music department.

GOVERNOR SULE VISITS TERTIARY INSTITUTIONS, DISTRIBUTES FOOD AND FINANCIAL AID

Fulafia V.C,  welcomes Governor of Nasarawa state. Students at tertiary institutions in Nasarawa state received a welcome boost today, as Governor A.A Sule paid a visit to several institutions in the state, including the Federal University of Lafia, and distributed bags of rice as well as a cash gift.  Govornor A.A sule at the federal university lafia. Unijos V-C Honoured During Visit To Mass Communication Department, Commisssions New Studio and Library.

The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Jos, Professor Ishaya Tanko, visited the Department of Mass Communication to commission its newly constructed studio and library. The event, held at the Faculty of Social Sciences, saw the presence of   dignitaries from government parastatals, lecturers, senior lecturers, Heads of Departments, and the Dean of the Faculty of Arts, among others. Senior lecturers of the Department of  Mass Communication Professor Ishaya Tanko, who received several awards, expressed gratitude to the department for the respect accorded to him. He also acknowledged the presence of the Minister for Sports and praised the current administration for its unwavering support to the university.
