Sambo Peter officially assumed office as the new president of the University of Jos Students' Union Government (SUG), following his victory in the recently concluded elections. The inauguration ceremony, held at the Social Science Faculty Hall, Naraguta Campus, saw Peter and other elected executives sworn into office amidst distinguished guests including the Vice-Chancellor, the Dean of Students Affairs, ASUU chairman for UNIJOS chapter, representatives from the National Association of Nigeria Students (NANS) UNIJOS Zone C chapter, lecturers, members of the parliament, and other dignitaries. Unijos V-C Honoured During Visit To Mass Communication Department, Commisssions New Studio and Library.

The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Jos, Professor Ishaya Tanko, visited the Department of Mass Communication to commission its newly constructed studio and library. The event, held at the Faculty of Social Sciences, saw the presence of   dignitaries from government parastatals, lecturers, senior lecturers, Heads of Departments, and the Dean of the Faculty of Arts, among others. Senior lecturers of the Department of  Mass Communication Professor Ishaya Tanko, who received several awards, expressed gratitude to the department for the respect accorded to him. He also acknowledged the presence of the Minister for Sports and praised the current administration for its unwavering support to the university. 2 DEAD OTHERS INJURED OVER PALLIATIVE

  Two students of the Nasarawa State University Keffi lost their lives, while others were injured in a stampede at the school's convocation square. The tragic incident occurred today, as students attempted to illegally obtain food items at the distribution site.  According to a 400-level student who requested anonymity, the incident was caused by a rush to get access to the bags of rice, which had not yet been distributed. “They haven't started sharing the palliative, the governor was yet to come,  Students on their own went to force down the gate while some jumped over the fence to collect the rice themselves due to this there was commotion and some students were pushed down resulting to injury and sadly death" He added that this palliative distribution was successful in other Tertiary institutions the governor had visited but theirs at NSUK turned out differently. GOVERNOR SULE VISITS TERTIARY INSTITUTIONS, DISTRIBUTES FOOD AND FINANCIAL AID
