Students of university of Jos shut down campus entrances in protest of student deaths, lack of facilities

students of the University of Jos have locked down all entrances to the school, preventing access to and from the premises.

The protest, which began early Monday morning, was sparked by the death of two students who reportedly died due to lack of adequate facilities in the school clinic, as well as other challenges such as poor hostel conditions, filled soakaways, and lack of water and electrical stability.

Speaking with one of the of protesters who plead anonymity, he said “ why will students pay for all these facilities and yet they are not provided"

One of the student who addressed protesters said the gate will remain locked until their needs are taken into consideration.

Unijos V-C Honoured During Visit To Mass Communication Department, Commisssions New Studio and Library.

The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Jos, Professor Ishaya Tanko, visited the Department of Mass Communication to commission its newly constructed studio and library. The event, held at the Faculty of Social Sciences, saw the presence of dignitaries from government parastatals, lecturers, senior lecturers, Heads of Departments, and the Dean of the Faculty of Arts, among others.
